Dhaka, Jan 13 (UNB) – Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Sunday said Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) will be turned into a public-friendly organisation through improving the quality of services.
“People’s conception about Rajuk is not good at all because of sluggishness in work, corruption and irregularities in it. We must eliminate the unexpected delay the service seekers face in availing of its services,” he said at a discussion meeting with Rajuk officials at its conference room.
He also called upon Rajuk officials to raise their sense of responsibility and play a more dynamic role in performing their duties.
Mentioning that corruption by a handful of people spoil the image of the whole organisation, the minister said, “We’ve to remain alert while providing services. We’ve to work with transparency following the rules and regulations of the organisation.”
If there is any allegation over irregularities or negligence, strict measures will be taken against those responsible for these, he warned.
Housing and Public Works Secretary Shahid Ullah Khandakar, Additional Secretary Md Akhtar Hossain, Rajuk Chairman Md Abdul Rahman were, among others, spoke at the programme.
